Cookie Policy
Last updated: November 2, 2026. This policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies on Deadline Pro.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work properly, remember preferences, and understand how visitors use the site. We also refer to similar technologies (e.g. local storage) where relevant.
2. Cookies we use
We use the following types of cookies on deadlinepro.co.za and the Deadline Pro application:
Strictly necessary
These are required for the Service to function. They include:
- Session cookie: keeps you logged in and maintains your session while you use the app. It is removed when you close your browser or log out.
- Security token (e.g. CSRF): helps prevent cross-site request forgery and is used to validate requests.
We do not ask for consent for these because they are necessary for the Service. Without them, you could not use the application as intended.
Preference and functionality
These remember your choices to improve your experience, for example:
- Theme preference: we store your theme choice (e.g. light/dark) in local storage so it persists across visits.
Analytics and performance (if any)
If we use analytics or performance cookies in the future, we will describe them here and, where required by law, obtain your consent before activating them. We currently aim to minimise non-essential tracking on the Service.
3. Third-party cookies
Our payment provider (e.g. PayFast) may set cookies when you are on their payment pages. Those are governed by their own policies. We do not control third-party cookies; we encourage you to read their privacy and cookie notices.
4. How to control cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking or deleting strictly necessary cookies may prevent the Service from working correctly (e.g. you may not be able to stay logged in). For preference cookies (e.g. theme), you can clear local storage via your browser’s developer tools or settings.
5. Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the Service. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
6. More information
For how we handle personal information collected via cookies, see our Privacy Policy. If you have questions about cookies, contact us via Contact.
